Hi there! My name is Corrie Zepeda and I am the counselor at Little Cypress Elementary. I joined the LCE family in 2020, and absolutely love my job and getting to know the students here! A little bit about me, my husband and I have been married for almost 19 years, we have 3 incredible kids and a dog named Beans! I attended Lamar University and received my bachelors of science in Social Work, and my Masters in Education in School Counseling. I taught second grade for several years before having the opportuinity to stay home with my children. After seven years I returned to the classroom and taught for a couple more years before stepping into the counseling role. It has been a life long dream to become a school counselor and I love it! When counseling, I use solution focused and strength based approaches to help students work through the different things they are facing.
This year we are using “A Little Spot of Emotion” curriculum designed by Diane Alber. I will be teaching our students how to recognize and name their emotions, strategies for workign through those emotions, and healthy ways to express their emotions.
